All you need is water and it sticks to the wall!

全部読めます！

でも「がぎぐげご」とか「ぱぴぷぺぽ」はまだです。

なので、「じゃがいも」は「しゃかいも」。

「たまねぎ」は「たまねき」だそうです。

Kai loves this and he can read the whole chart now.

With the exceptions of extra letters like ga-gi-gu-ge-go, pa-pi-pu-pe-po.

That's the next step though.

iPadでひらがなの練習。

iPadでひらがなのアプリをダウンロードしました。

知らないうちにカイがひらがなの書き方を覚えていた！

びっくりした。

I downloaded a free Hiragana app on my iPad a while back and Kai would play it every once in a while.  Didn't realize he was learning so much from it--he learned how to write!

And he knows all of the letters. 

I guess tablets can help kids learn!

少しづつひらがなに興味が出てきた！

でもあのペンの持ち方...

どうしてもこの持ち方がいいんだって。

he's slowly but surely showing interest in Japanese hiragana.

He started his workbook. 

He holds his pen funny though.

I tried to teach him but he prefers his own way, for now.

ん？何の音？

誕生日に挙げた船のテントが大き過ぎてママは2階の子供部屋に置きました。

すると次の朝、階段から「おいっしょ、おいっしょ」って聞こえてきた。

見てみるとカイがテントを部屋から出してリビングに戻そうとしていた！

よくもこんなに大きいな物を....

So the pirate ship tent that we got for Kai was huge. I decided to keep it in his room upstairs.

then the next morning i heard grunts coming from the stairs...

Kai was hauling the tent back to the living room! 

i was actually impressed...that thing is big and should be heavy for a 3 year old!

ひらがな。

頑張って覚えようね！

we really need to start practicing hiragana!

カイは「フットボール」って言ってた。

ああ～たしかに似てる。

mini onigiris...which Kai called "footballs".

hmm..they DO look like footballs ^_^
