Author Ben Clanton book signing !!

I decided to take the big kiddos to a book signing by one of Kai's favorite author...Ben Clanton who wrote the Narwhal and Jellyfish series.

I wasn't surprised to see a full room by the time we got there but we managed to find a nice spot.

Raffle tickets were given out and Kai won a lanyard!

The boys were so patient waiting in line to meet him.

We each brought one of his books so I also got a book signed.

How cool!!

After the book signing, another local author was at the launch party.

Kazu Kibuishi is the author of the "Amulet" graphic novel series, a book James bought for Kai over the holidays!  We picked up book #2 and got it signed as well.

It was a great day!

For being such good/patient boys, I treated them to a delicious lunch outing.

I made some Mini Heart Pies with nutella spread inside...YUM♥

The kiddos drew some art for me.

The best part was our date♥♥

We rarely get to go out together, just the two of us.

I splurged on a delicious cocktail and some of the yummiest burgers I've ever had!

James was feeling a bit under the weather...but so thankful he still took me out!

Yes that's a beaver on James' head...it was Halloween!

Snow Trio

Went for a walk in the ice and snow.

Milo is rockin' his new snow boots!

A trip to the coffee shop..Milo scored a cookie while Kai and Luka each got to enjoy their own hot chocolate♥

The powdery snow made it hard to build but we managed.

Nailed It! -Play-Doh version

We were snowed in for days!

Luckily we had a good stock pile of play doh♥

I don't normally pull them out because it creates a big mess and I have to vacuum up all the itty bitty fallen pieces but like I said, we were snowed in.

Kai and Luka have been watching the Netflix series "Nailed It" and so they did there own versions of recreating cakes with Play-Doh.

Snowed in!

The icicles got bigger!

You know it's snowmageddon when the local grocery store is completely out of produce!

We even got icicles on the ivy plants on our fence!

Snowstorm - School bus delayed!

Kai's school was dismissed 2 hours early today but it wasn't early enough!

Snow started falling hard and we ended up waiting for an hour for the bus to show up.

Snowpocalypse !

People are scrounging for food!

We're expecting another snow storm and people are stocking up on food!

Apparently food is running out (empty shelves) and there are long lines everywhere!

I went to Trader Joe's to stock up and we found a frozen pond!

School is open again!

So one of the giant icicles fell off and Daddy brought it in for the kids to see!

So cool!

School was cancelled for 2 days but on Wednesday School was open!

We dropped off Luka at his preschool♥

So much snow still left!

Then we went to Costco to get some necessities.

The best part is the free food samples we get.

It's so pretty when there's snow on the ground and the sun is out at the same time!

It's day 2 and school is cancelled again!

Temperatures were below freezing last night so lots of ice!

And I got to wear my snow boots!
