He did pretty good!  He cried a little when she used the trimmer but overall he did well.

The cutest raincoat(s) ♥

So I finally found raincoats for the kiddos that I'm happy with, price-wise and cuteness-wise♥

Rainy season starts in the fall here in Washington but they don't sell raincoats anywhere!

I've only been able to find heavy winter coats.

Apparently April (spring) is the time for raincoats...I'll have to remember that.

It was so hard to find that I even had my dad get me a raincoat for Kai from Japan. (That one turned out too big so we'll use it when he gets taller)

These raincoats are by Skip Hop, one of my favorite baby/kid brands.

They are a bit pricey but I found them online (Nordstrom) for 40% off plus Free shipping♥

And they had their sizes!!!  I jumped at it and I"m really glad I got them--the quality is really nice too. The inside is lined with fleece-material. 

Not all designs/patterns were on sale but I was happy with the Bee and Dog.

Upcoming haircut ♥

So James has been wanting to get Luka a haircut appointment...and I've been purposely slacking on it because I like his long hair and I think it's super cute.

But ok...I suppose it's about time for a haircut :(

I made an appointment for this weekend and I'm sad his luscious locks are going to be cut!

So here's the last hurrah...I gave him a cute top ponytail and took some pictures because it's so cute♥

I hope he behaves at the salon.  It's been a while!

The Peanuts Movie ♥

The new 'Peanuts Movie' came out yesterday and I've been thinking of taking Kai to his first movie theater experience.  We caught the Saturday matinee showing.  It was a mommy and Kai date♥

カイが映画館デビュー！

昨日から公開になったスヌーピーの新作映画「ザ・ピーナッツ・ムービー」。

ママと2人で映画デートしました。

The theater was packed and we got a pretty good seat.

He was in awe of everything...the big screen was so cool to him!

I enjoyed the movie as well...but I haven't been to such an early matinee (11 am) I'll be honest, I felt like dozing off a few times.  But the movie was great and I loved the style of the animation and art.

でもさすがに朝の11時ははやい...と言っても満員でした。

面白かった！大人でも楽しめる映画。

I didn't buy any candy or snacks but we did sneak in some Pocky ♥

ポップコーンとはお菓子は買わなかったけど、ポッキーを持ち込んで二人で食べました。

Well unfortunately this year, it was a rainy stormy day....

でも今年のハロウインはあいにくの雨。

A Dragon/Dinosaur and a Panda this year!

The panda is a repeat from last year--but honestly I couldn't find any good costumes this year!

This year the 'mall' gave out better candy than last year.

Mommy is pleased...since she will probably eat most of it.

I still don't allow any hard candy or chewy candy to Kai.

Only small pieces of chocolate here and there...and maybe I'll let him try a Gummy.

The nice thing about the mall is you also get non-candy goodies.

This year we got some coloring pages, comic books and a superhero trading card!

Now this is super cool--Kitaro is a classic Japanese comic.

(I grew up watching it as a kid)

I had NO IDEA they had an English version available.

The Comic Shop was giving out comic books so I snagged a couple of the Kitaro books.

Kai had his 4 year check up and he's doing great!

Height and weight is average too--which I was worried he was on the small side but he isn't.

Keep growing buddy!

Also, 3 shots in the arms...but he got over it fast.

I treated him to a Jamba Juice♥

Then he helped me with grocery shopping.

I love it when stores offer these kid-sized carts!

Panda Onigiri ♥

So Japanese moms are known for making super cute Bento (lunches) for their kids.

Well, turns out there are TONS of kits in Japan to help make cute food and my sister brought me back a fun Panda Onigiri maker.  I tried it out and it's super cute♥

Kai turned 4 last Wednesday but I had a small family get together on Sunday ♥

Auntie literally just returned from Japan the day before so he got some cool toys.

Bad lighting but I made the cake this year.

I went with the Lightning McQueen theme so I got a Cars cake topper..Balloons and everything!

After a LONG nap Luka finally woke up and got to enjoy a piece of cake.

やっと長い昼寝から起きたルカちゃん。

Sharing a box ♥

So this happened!

Kai got a new Cars movie (Cars 2--Thank you Granpa!) so he wanted to watch it.

Then he decided to use this box as his 'car' and watch the movie.

Then Luka wanted to get in too and Kai was very  happy to share. Awww♥
