Nature Journaling

So my sweet Luka decided he wanted to go 'Nature Journaling" on a Saturday.

I think he was inspired by his Preschool. (They would often hike to the creek and draw/make observations)  

On this day there was construction happening all over the park so we decided to go further into the woods and find a creek to do some journaling.

We were greeted by several ducks.

.....quack!

Kai explored too and tried to do some rock skipping.

It was hard finding the perfect rock.

I also treated them to a cookie at a nearby coffee shop.

We walked past a hidden trail and discovered a creek.

It also happen to be Pagliacci's anniversary so they had 79 cent slice of pizzas!

Cookie incident!

After exploring during Luka's preschool class, I treated Luka to a cookie.

He was eating around the village when crows were cawing really loud and even swooping really low at one point!  I thought they were going to snatch the cookie from him!

Walked around, explored the bridge and looked for some fish!

Alakazam!

I made Milo a magic wand.

He likes to say "Alakazam!"

Hanging out by the creek--I saw a salmon swimming up the stream!

So lucky to have some sunny fall days!

We went down to a 'secret' creek to explore the waters!

I didn't see any salmon today.

I'm sure throwing rocks into the water didn't help...

Next time we'll bring some boots!
