Nature Journaling

So my sweet Luka decided he wanted to go 'Nature Journaling" on a Saturday.
I think he was inspired by his Preschool. (They would often hike to the creek and draw/make observations)
On this day there was construction happening all over the park so we decided to go further into the woods and find a creek to do some journaling.

We were greeted by several ducks.
.....quack!

Kai explored too and tried to do some rock skipping.
It was hard finding the perfect rock.

He's so sweet...Luka always makes me smile :)

I also treated them to a cookie at a nearby coffee shop.

BUSY SUMMER Part 23

That one time we went to the botanical gardens to check out the garden art festival and go on a hike!

Everytime we come here I take a group photo at this bench.

Beautiful flowers all around!

We found the bridge!

Hiking!

Hiking adventure!
Our friends brought some painted rocks (ours didn't turn out well...)
and we hid them along the trail!

Milo found a good spot for his rock!

And how exciting!
Luka and his friend found a shedded snake skin!
Luka took it to school the next day to share.

Exploring the creek

Accidental twins!
We have matching shoes♥

We walked past a hidden trail and discovered a creek.

Waiting for Luka's class to end.

It also happen to be Pagliacci's anniversary so they had 79 cent slice of pizzas!

Nature Walk

Last weekend we took advantage of the nice weather and went on a family hike!

The kiddos explored and found new structures!

I backpacked Milo for a bit but then he decided to join his brothers and walk too.
He did a good amount of walking!

 Snack break.

We saw this giant flower so we took a picture for scale.
It's so big!

Botanical Gardens

"must keep up. must keep up!"

We love it here!
So much green.  Never crowded.
Fun hiking trails.

♥♥♥

And of course after we got home, I ended up with a bug bite.
Every since I was a kid...I was always prone to bug bites.
I'm not sure what it was but it was a giant mosquito bite (?) on my butt.
I wore pants...how did I get a bite there???

Snoqualmie Falls

Since it was a nice weekend we decided to go to the Snoqualmie Falls.
It's close by and the kids haven't seen it yet.
Of course it was Memorial Day Weekend so it was very crowded.
Parking was impossible but we parked at the lower parking and got lucky.
Luka saw the waterfall and called it "An explosion!"

I think next time we'll avoid the weekend so we can park on the upper level and check out all the cool shops and get a different view.
