so i went on a sister date with erika this past weekend.

we went to the U Village (and it was such a beautiful day, we kinda hung out there all afternoon)

i came upon a baby store that had the CUTEST decor/toys/etc.

we like the Dino theme but i'm also loving the Robot theme...

it's so retro and AWESOME♥

anyway, they had a great selection of wooden toys--i'm definitely coming back with Jamus next time

週末にエリカと二人で買い物デートに行ってきたの♥

海ちゃんはパパが面倒を看てくれて、久しぶりにゆっくりとした買い物ができた。

そしたらものすごく可愛らしいベビーショップを発見！

どれもこれも買いたくて・・・でも高いし・・・

今の海ちゃんの部屋のテーマは恐竜なんだけど、最近このレトロ・ロボットのテーマが気に入ってる。今度はジェームスと来よう！

carrots are...weird mommy...!

so this was the first time Kai had some solids...i started with mushed up organic carrots!

as you can see...he seems to feel really weird about it.

his facial expressions are priceless!

初めてにんじんを食べた時の海ちゃんです。

まずそうな顔をしてるけど、なんとな～く食べてくれました。

「ママ、なんじゃ～これは？」

「海ちゃん寝ちゃったのか・・・一緒に遊びたかったな～」

starting solids...perhaps?

"hey mommy! i was checking out this 'baby purees' book and now i'm interested...

can we start solids today?"

「ねぇママ、この本見つけちゃった。赤ちゃんフード食べたくなった！」

so i decided to test out some solids today...

i read that carrots are a good solids-starter, so i got some organic carrots and started mashing away.

という事で、今日はにんじんに初挑戦です。

この頃、私が何かを食べると　ジーっと見てるので、そろそろ食べたいのかなと思いました。

ta-da! i got it mashed really well. made a few spoonfuls...

BUT, i think the timing was off :( by the time i had this ready, he seemed uninterested...

i gave him a couple small spoonfuls and he licked and licked but i'm not sure he swallowed...or enjoyed it...

hmmm... i'll try again tomorrow!

やっと出来た！

でも出来上がった頃にはもう興味がなかったみたい・・・

舌を出してなめてたりしたけど、ちゃんと食べたのかな？

タイミングがよくなかったと思う・・また明日挑戦します！

yay! baby Kai is finally enjoying this!

up until a month ago, he would get scared and look teary eyed when i did this...

but now he's fully enjoying it!

公園デビュー♥ Park debut!

今日は本当に暖かい一日でした。

日曜日だったので、3人で近くの公園へ・・・

海ちゃんはまだ歩けないけど、抱っこして散歩したよん♥

today was such a beautiful day! (it his 70degrees...the warmest day this year!)

we decided to stroll out to our neighborhood park (really awesome park by the way).

it was packed! the playground was filled with kids! 

the nice thing about the park is that it has trails that go every which way.

can't wait to bring him here when he gets older!

away from mommy and daddy...!

so we had my dad and erika watch Kai for us today.

この日はエリカとお父さんが海ちゃんの面倒を看てくれました。

（私とジェームズは（新車）の拝見をしに行きました。一日中掛かったので、びっくり！）

awww! apparently he held his own bottle! he's getting really good at it.

ちゃんと自分でボトルを持っていたそうです。

hahah then erika let him play with her camera.

日本からお土産！

so my parents have returned from their (all too short) vacation/trip to japan.

seriously, 10 days is NOT enough time to see everything/everyone in japan.

but they had a great time and i'm glad they finally got their vacation together.

that is specifically for "boy's day" in Japan.

Boy's day is on May 5th.
